We follow most updated SEACF (South East Asian Climbing Federation) Standards which are the recognized standard for South East Asia. Climbing is a great activity for all to take up and climbing standards have been formulated by climbing federations to give climbers knowledge to ensure safety when engaging in any climbing activity.
Currently available climbing courses in Brunei Darussalam :
Sports Climbing Course Level 1 : The purpose of this course is to give participants an enjoyable, safe and informative introduction to sport climbing. This course is designed for people with no prior knowledge of sport climbing. Participants will be introduced to equipment, climbing techniques, correct belaying for top-roping and climbing calls. Duration of course is 1 day or 2 sessions of 3.5 hours each.
Sports Climbing Course Level 2 : This course is designed as a follow on from the Sport Climbing Course Level 1. The course builds on the top-rope skills acquired on the previous course and teaches a progression into lead climbing on artificial climbing walls. Participants on this course should be confident in all the techniques covered on the previous course before undertaking this more advanced level course. Duration of course is 2 days or 4 sessions of 3.5 hours each.
Successful participants will be issued with a certification card as seen below:
Courses are conducted by certified BSCF-SEACF Instructors CAT1 / CAT2. Usually included in this course are course materials, rental of climbing equipment (i.e helmet, ropes, harness, belay device, quick draws), use of artificial / natural climbing wall at predetermined location, SEACF Certification. Unfortunately all other SEACF courses are still not yet available locally.
