Hello my fellow climbers,
There will be a climbing competition in Singapore this November. Brunei Sports Climbing Federation [BSCF] are invited to send their climbers in the OPEN categories. Well for you lotz out there who are interested to join or wanna watch the Rock ON this November. So feel free to email us for more info'.
All climbers MUST register under BSCF in order to join such competition abroad. BSCF is the registered and recognised body which represent our country "Brunei Darussalam" whether it is in the National, Regional or International Competition.
Stay tune for more updates... I'll be back with more info guys
Isn't a "Federation" an organization formed by merging of several groups or parties or clubs or associations? The action of forming states or organizations into a single group with centralized control. Federation also means; The act of constituting a political unity to address a common goal out of a number of separate groups or colonies or clubs that share a common interests so that each member still retains the management of its internal affairs, management as well as members. If that is the meaning of federations why should individual climbers need to be registered under BSCF if BSCF is a "Federation"?
ReplyDeleteSo shouldn't BSCF be made up of Clubs or Association within Brunei that has active number of members with interests in Sports Climbing? Furthermore, shouldn't the office bearers of the Federation be made up of representatives from the different Clubs or Associations that making up the membership of the Federation? Please do refer to the actual meaning of Federation.
Looking at the meaning above, BSCF should be collaborating with the local Association or Clubs that share a common interest with BSCF and lure them to join forces with the Federation instead of trying to recruit individuals into BSCF.
Thank you
Interested but Confused
Dear 'Munir' Interested but Confused, thank you for your comment.
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe so in what you have said and explain is quite true. But why do you have to question the 'federation'? Actually there is a lot of thing going on with BSCF abroad but not in Brunei due to many reasons, etc.
To cut it short, no clubs or other 'climbing association' has/have join us yet... under the umbrella of BSCF. FYI, some climber prefer to be as an individual rather than joining a club/association.
Looking back the climbing scene in Brunei is consider quite low. Most climbers train themselves individually or in a small group. More over we have no proper training ground for climbing. The Tasek Lama Climbing Wall is no longer safe for anyone to climb.
Insya-allah by 2010, the federation will work hard for the better future of climbing in Brunei.
Thank you :)
